Unusual streetwalker in Candelaria

Probably the biggest surprise of the whole trip was my day in Bogotá. With a population of 8.35 million people, increasing at 5% per year, Bogotá is one growing, thriving place. The city is spreading quickly, yet keeping the density low. Modern architecture dominates the suburbs, but the old areas of Candelaria retain their charm.

Bogota is home to one of the world's largest networks of bicycle paths, many of which are completely separated from the roads and allow access to all parts of the city.
